The Bitzer
Partsocaster!
My new, self-built guitar.
Loosely based on what I know about Steve Rothery (from Marillion’s) sunburst
Strat. Sunburst alder body, 2 x Wilkinson single coil pickups and 1 Wilkinson humbucker
(Strats don't normally have humbuckers. They're more usually found on Gibson
Les Pauls and the like.) All gold Wilkinson hardware including roller wheels on
the trem arm saddle to ensure the strings move smoothly over them with no
friction, they then pass over the solid rock maple neck and black bone nut,
under a roller string guide, (again, most guitars do not have rollers. This is
to reduce friction and cut down on string breakage) before going into gold
Wilkinson locking tuners. Rather than the string just being wound through the
hole in the tuner, the tuner itself "locks" down onto the string,
eliminating string slippage and keeping it's tuning. I've also included a photo
of Rothery with the guitar is based mine on.
I think mine's better... :-)

Resplendant in all it’s golden glory…

Iin it’s new home…

With the rest of the “family…”
