Are you ready to Stand?

Well, it’s been 10 years in the making, the new Lucid Dream album, Stand is finally here. Based on the Stephen King book The Stand, this has been a pure labour of love.

This album features lead vocals mostly by my regular musical brother-in-arms, Ian Brough, with a couple of guest vocals by Arrah Vella, and Jenny Asuncion, and a guest musical appearance by the much-missed Tommy Willis.

The album is available in a number of formats. If streaming is your thing, then you can stream and play it from my SoundClick page HERE.

If you head on over to my DOWNLOADS page, you can download the album in both MP3 or lossless FLAC quality. Downloads of the album are in ZIP format, and contain a PDF booklet of the lyrics. As an added bonus, the downloads also contain a bonus instrumental version of the album for the geeky types that are into that kind’ve thing. (Like me!)

Ian also compiled a lyric video for the album, containing audio in 24bit quality, so you can play it onscreen and sing along, if that’s also your thing… You can also get that from the DOWNLOADS page, or you can view it on YouTube HERE.

Finally, I just want to say thanks to Ian for helping me with this project. He wrote some great lyrics, and sang brilliantly. Kudos also to Jenny and Arrah for the input in making this an album I’m immensley proud of.

M-O-O-N. That spells new album coming!

Hey everyone. It’s been a LOOONG time, I know, but the first new Lucid Dream album in years is just about ready to drop. This one has been a labour of love, given that it’s pretty much a concept album, based around the greatest book I ever read, Stephen Kings’ The Stand. It’s also timely, given the new TV series of it having just recently aired.

It’s taken almost 10 years from the first song being written to being here now. A lot has happened in that time, and music got pushed to the background for lots of different reasons, but I have to say, I’m immensley proud of this album. It features lyrics and lead vocals by my musical brother-in-arms, Ian Brough, and some guest appearances from a couple of other singers, Arah Vella and Jenny Asuncion, and some drums by a much -missed buddy, Tommy Willis.

The aim is that on Friday, you will be able to download your choiuce of either an MP3 or a lossless audio version of the album, complete with lyric book and artwork from this very website. For people who like to stream, the album will be up on my Lucid Dream SoundClick page.

Ian Brough has also assembled a lyric video, which will go up on YouTube, plus, I plan to make the video available for download too, both as raw MP4 files, or as a DVD ISO, so you can burn a DVD to play on your home cinema system. This video will contain an uncompressed 24bit Audio stream of the album.

There will also be a bonus instrumental version of the album included with the downloaded version, plus an instrumental version of the video too that you can also download.

Stay tuned and check back here on Friday!

I’m still around..!

Hey everyone. Thought I’d drop a line as it’s been a while. Whilst I have no “new” music as such to offer right now, there are some more freebies to grab. A while back, I selected some of my favourite tracks musically from the Lucid Dream back catalogue, and stripped the vocals away, leaving purely instrumental versions of the songs. For some, it will be a curiosity, for others, it may be interesting to hear these songs as they sounded before vocals were added. Either way, I hope you enjoy. You can grab the double album from the DOWNLOADS page.

In other news, there IS some new music being written and recorded, (I promise!) but as yet, I don’t feel it’s ready to be put out there “in the wild” so to speak. I’m also looking at re-recording the very first Lucid Dream album, “What The Deuce..?” armed with better equipment, and more knowledge than I had all those years ago. Further updates on this as events and real life allows. That’s all for now, cheers!

Finally! Some New Music! It’s only taken 3 years, right…?

Hey! Long time, no speak right? Well, real life has gotten in the way, and I took a break from writing and recording new music for a while, but, I’ve been back into the groove lately, so, over the next few months, you’ll hopefully be getting some new tracks.

So, a few weeks back, I came up with a little guitar motif while restringing my classical guitar. It was nice, quite folky-sounding, so I wrote the rest of a song around it. In my mind, I thought it would suit a female voice, so I tentatively asked an old colleague of mine, Ange Hardy whether or not she’d be interested in singing on it for me. Amazingly, she agreed, and she came up with a vocal take for the song that way surpassed what I could ever have hope for. It’s not my usual style of song. It’s only 2 and a half minutes for a start, most of my solos are longer than that! Anyhow, here is the song for you:

And, I know that after hearing it, you’re going to want to check out Ange’s own material, so please, head on over to www.angehardy.com where you can check out her own awesome work, and even catch her out on tour!
Finally, I’d like to thank Ange Hardy once again, for taking my dainty little ditty and turning it into a finished song!

Bit quiet round these parts..?

Hey all! Not much in the way of activity for a while, I know, but thought I’d check in anyway. Music production has stalled a little lately, with real-life stuff getting in the way. I was working with singer Ian Brough on some songs, and we were making good progress, when he was suddenly taken ill. He is on the mend now, but until he’s ready, things there are on hold. Best wishes to ya buddy.

In other news, I’ve been fortunate enough to be asked to do some gigs with a local band, Point Blank, as their stand-in bass player. Playing bass live is a new avenue for me, but it’s been great fun. If you live in or around the Northants area, check them out. Their FaceBook page is HERE:

Finally, I thought I’d have a bit of shameless promotion, and mention again that I also do music for any website, marketing or film projects that may require it. To hear some samples of my work, or to make an enquiry, CLICK HERE:

That’s all for now. Hopefully the next update won’t take as long as this one. Take care!

New Lucid Dream track – Suit Of Lies – FREE download!

Hey everyone, Happy New Year!

As a belated New Year’s present, I have a brand new track for you. It’s a collaboration between myself and Ian Brough, a Dubai-based singer /songwriter. Graham actually started these lyrics prior to his departure, and they sat unfinished for a while, alongside the music. I thought it was too good a song to just leave, so finished off the lyrics myself, and sent them, along with the music, to Ian. He delivered a great vocal track, with lush harmonies, and melodic passages. Hope you enjoy!

News & New Lucid Dream Track

It’s been a while since there’s been anything newsworthy, but I think this just about warrants it. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working with Ian Brough, (a British singer and lyricist living in Dubai,) on some new tracks based around the book The Stand, by Stephen King. Initially, it was just going to be a track or two, but, as these things normally do, things developed, and we have ideas for more songs based around the story. Musically, a lot of it is already done, but as a teaser, we’ve decided to release one of the tracks “into the wild.” For those unfamiliar with the story, it’s about a man-made disease (Captain Trips) that escapes from a lab, and wipes out 99% of the human population. The story follows how, from the survivors, two sides form, guided to their locations by dreams. The good guys to the East, and The Baddies to the West, in preparation for the final battle, as it were.

Anyway, here’s a track from early on in the project. This is Captain Trips. Enjoy! (The links plays the file. If you want to download it, just right click on the link, and select “Save Link As…”

OK, back to work…
